If you ever hear anyone talk about Colombia, you'll notice that there are always good things said about the country. With Omoh, a new and emerging act from Bogota (that's the capital city of the land), there'll be another great reason to talk about it, because her debut EP, St. Clara, is definitely deserving of some attention and praise. The band's sound is not what you would expect from an act that's from Latin America; there's no Bossa Nova, Soca, or tango-related sounds within it, but rather, a sound that could be considered more Western-edged than anything. With its subtle electronic infusions, gorgeous accenting melodies (guitar, organ, piano), and light-as-a-feather vocals from the lead singer (we're unsure of her name), each track on the EP is an invigorating and seriously pleasurable listen. It perhaps goes without saying at this point, but Omoh's four-track body of work might just be your surprise favorite of the month, and with what tracks we have featured below, there's really no being on the fence with the music.
