We endorse the idea of combining multiple eras of music to introduce a fresh, modern-sounding twist of old tunes, and especially so when it's done with such meticulous skill as seen here with Aussie duo Olympic Ayres' latest hit, "Say My Name." The track sits squarely at the corner of electronic-pop and disco, and Ayres' catchy beat and era-crossing mix of both modern synths and '70s guitar riffs have kept our ears on their work for some time. Most recently, "Control" grabbed our attention, and now "Say My Name" is here to keep it in place. Olympic Ayres has found their way to the top of our attention with their recent releases' multi-faced qualities, and we'd be just as at home listening to them through nice speakers as we would be at a hip, modern wedding (unusual, right?). The vocals, one component of the well-flowing sound, are performed partly in a reverbed manner, and partly in a more electronic-inspired tone, and their uplifting overall nature lead them above other modern, disco-infused efforts, for sure. "Say My Name" is Ayres' third released single from Leisureplex, their debut EP that will be available on September 17th in the US, and September 18th in Australia.
