Although we're happy about the recent revival of disco in the mainstream, the resurgence has brought with it a plethora of mediocre attempts at incorporating the particular genre's qualities. We have seen some exceptional disco acts, though, with one in particular being the Aussie duo, Olympic Ayres. They've been making music for quite some time now, and every bit of their experience shows in their seamless sound. A couple of months ago, they dropped off a shining disco-dance effort, "Take Flight", and now, they've followed up with "Control", a second single that brings our adoration of their sound to a whole new level. Who doesn't love a stylish falsetto sitting atop a pumping house beat and some smooth guitar strums? Olympic Ayres' sound is irresistible, and we must warn you that it induces a desire to get out of your seat and dance like you're in the '70s. The two have hit an absolutely captivating sound with "Control", mostly through the means of multiple guitar layers, an engaging bassline, and subtle synth use, and after hearing the release, we're absolutely ecstatic to take a listen to what more they may have up their sleeves.
