What would the hip-hop world be without Oddisee propelling it forth? It'd likely still exist, and most probably wouldn't even notice a ripple in the braggadocios pool the genre represents, but there'd be an ever-increasing population of hip-hop heads put deeply into an irrevocable kind of depression. Why? Well, for more years than are necessary, the rapper, producer, and overall creative mind has been putting together works of immeasurable quality and blatant social and personal significance. Works of those kinds don't appear so often anymore, we know this, so it's always a religious-esque experience when the individual lets any of his prized musical possessions go for the well-being of us musical folk. That's why we're overjoyed today that he's let loose another piece from his surely stunning debut album to come. On "Belong To The World", the third track from that aforementioned album, Oddisee reveals details about his personal life, his upbringing, his surroundings, and basically his interaction with his environments as a whole. It's a refreshing look into his mind and social evolution, the song is, and, of course, with an expertly timed beat behind him, he's able to reveal his thoughts in a fashionable-sounding form. That's not a new trick up Oddisee's sleeve, either, but rather, a norm. He's the king of smooth, soul-infused, always-on-point hip-hop music, and that's a fact not likely to change anytime soon.
