There's not many people who can get away with making experimental music and have it sounding great, but with Oceaán, we've an artist that not only pushes the R&B envelope, but shows no signs of being different just to be different. We've heard this fact personified on his debut EP from earlier this year, and now the up-and-comer is dropping a new EP, The Grip, that's due out November 17th. "Veritas" is the second track he's released (the instrumental, "Grip", was the first) from the EP, but as far as being our favourite of the two, there's no question "Veritas" is our go-to track. It's surely going to generate hype for what material of his is to come, and who's to argue when the track hits you with a constant barrage of jarring, hypnotic arrangements? "Veritas" is a truly a fascinating listen, and we'll be hoping for more unique efforts like it on the upcoming body of work.
