This certainly isn't the first time we've heard a female vocalist cover a rap song, but Chicagoan artist Nylo decided to really challenge herself by taking on a piece as classic and venerated as Nas' "Life's A Bitch". Rather than trying to imitate the rap legend as many would've, though, Nylo's taken the lyrics and made them her own—the result of which has spawned one excellent work of pop. Nylo's instrumental bears absolutely no resemblance to Nas', but as we mentioned, this is probably a good call on her part, because any attempt to imitate the rap legend would likely end in disaster. With that in mind, she produced her own beat filled with icy synths and electronic percussion to go along with certain segments of Nas' lyrics and flows. Although Nylo made an appearance on G-Eazy's track, "Sleepless", about nine months ago, we haven't heard much from her since, so hopefully this new gem is the first of many more we can expect from the songstress ahead.
