If you're still unfamiliar with his signature sound, we pity you, and we strongly advise you to absorb yourself in every single piece of his, primarily because he's one of the select few who manages to somehow top every preceding effort released. It’s been three months since the unfaltering ambience of “Beside You” captivated us, and now n u a g e s struck back with a stirring, heartfelt piece entitled “Aware”. Though the track discharges a similar heartrending vibe to the aforementioned one, there seems to be less similar sounds implemented in the gem, as he utilizes a whole new sonic magazine of droning samples, long-drawn and expressive synths, and percussive additions that glaze each layer in immaculate fashion. The drumwork has already been spoken of in the past, and the sequences are just as majestic on this effort with unexpected, engrossing toms, and shakers complementing the ever-chaging kick pattern. And among these sensual, weakening inclusions, n u a g e s tosses in a few more signature touches, including a longing choir backdrop and slow-flowing streams that create a ravine-like setting that almost disengages you from your habitat. It's quite the sonic scenery, we admit, but it's one you'll be glad to have immersed yourself into, no doubt.
