We knew Novelette's name looked familiar when we came across it earlier today, and, upon a little research, we realized that she had been featured in a Comets We Fall post from three months ago. Unfortunately, we didn't take that encounter as a reason to further explore the songstress' sound, but, with her beatified version of "Pyre" cast out into the public today, we're graced with all the reasons we need to pay attention to the newly expressed singer from here on out. As mentioned above, the original version of "Pyre" came out earlier (about three months ago, to be more specific), but it existed in a bit of a rougher state, and really just shines now with all of the mastering that's taken place. The intimate sound of Cara Salimando's (Novelette) that appeared initially is still alive and well here, but the instrumentation behind it has transformed (through the updated mixing) into a truly superb supplementation of her heart-touching tone. Of course, Cara's songwriting is fantastic as well, and you'll catch yourself on several heart-hooking lines of hers cast throughout the ballad—if not bawling your eyes out because of the emotion expressed in them. Regardless your reaction, though, it's certainly going to be interesting to see how far this new project of the NJ/NY native's takes her, but we're excited to tag along for the ride, and we invite you to keep along as well. Engage in "PYRE" below, check out Cara's full-length, Everything Is Happening Now, on iTunes, and look forward to an upcoming EP of hers due soon.
