One of the benefits of being a music-obsessed, label-stalking music blogger is that, every once in a while, you pull something out of the ether that may just be bound for glory. In the case of Norma Jean Martine and her new track "No Gold," that may just be the case. The soulful, pop-laced jam rolls out with the confidence of seasoned vets of the industry. Replete with Black Keys-like woo's and a vocal talent and mystique reminiscent of Amy Winehouse, Norma is clearly a gem. Not a whole lot of information out on Norma other than the fact that she's from Middletown, New York and now splits time between Nashville and London. Also, she's been opening for acts like Mayer Hawthorne, Hem, and the like, so keep a close eye on this lady.
