NoMBe

Vowels

Our favorite artists and acts tend to be the ones that embrace their own style, so when we first heard NoMBe's vocal debut, "Seminole", we knew immediately that he'd be one artist we'd like. The singer-songwriter and producer is German-born, but currently lives in Los Angeles, and it doesn't take long to realize how remarkable his talent is. He has an EP coming out very soon, and to further his hype, he's dropped off the futuristic-soul effort, "Vowels". As a producer and singer, NoMBe has a bit of a leg up on many artists, and it's clear that his vocals and production mesh together seamlessly. The synth work throughout the piece is exceptional, also, as is the slow-paced beat that constitutes the instrumental's base. NoMBe's soft, alluring croon is sublime, and in the chorus we are slammed with an explosion of synth layers and heavier percussion that complement the tone of the track well. We were impressed by NoMBe's first two releases, definitely, but after hearing "Vowels" here, we can confidently say that he's one of our favorite up-and-coming artists. Look for the release of his debut EP is the near future.
