What is most surprising about the release of NoMBe’s latest single is that we somehow continue to be surprised by the magnitude of his talent. After covering an artist for this amount of time, you get a sense of what to expect as they slowly lift the veil on their new material. NoMBe is the notable exception to this rule, though. Those following will know NoMBe has released a new single from his debut LP every month so far in 2017. The sheer audacity of this strategy is, itself, worthy of praise—let alone the fact that each single to date has been crafted in a completely unique style and genre all to itself. “Do Whatchu Want To Me” is no different, and its sun-kissed guitar and fluttering, incandescent synth melodies work to create a sound that wouldn’t sound too out of place amongst Broken Bells session recordings. These summery vibes are unlike any NoMBe's cast before, and, if he’s to be kept at his word, we should be receiving another song next month. What genre will he be flirting with with his next single? Well we'll all have to wait until July to see.
