RIVKA's "Forest View" remix is a dark rework with tension to spare, but don't let the pounding beat and harsh introduction scare you away, because this is music that becomes more enjoyable with every second you keep listening. It's definitely not your average experimental electronic track, and common knowledge would suggest that it's probably not the best idea to throw in sampling of what can only be described as the grinding of gears when a car's clutch isn't engaged all the way, but its ultra-harsh sounds work wonders as musical foils to the ethereal vocals and bright melodies floating around the top of the song's sound spectrum. "Forest View" works really hard to lull you into complacency as you enjoy its smooth chord progressions, but the real magic happens when your ears are unceremoniously ripped out of the fog by the abrupt beat changes and seemingly out-of-place sound bites that materialize out of nowhere. RIVKA has been putting out some great originals on their own, but when given a quality track like this to interpret, the finished product was almost guaranteed to be a victory on all accounts.
