To say that songstress Nicole Millar had a spectacular 2014 would be somewhat of an understatement. Her exquisite vocals featuring on monster hit track “High” by Peking Duk and “Tell Me” by Golden Features quickly saw her profile rise from self-releasing SoundCloud artist to an award-winning singer-songwriter. With the new and extremely deserved platform, she's taken a year off to decide what sound she wants to create, and from this introspection and internal creative maneuvering, we finally have her first official single in “Wait”. Speaking with Richard Kingsmill on Triple J radio’s “2015” program, Nicole discussed both the influence that hip-hop has on her sound, and also the type of stories she wants to tell—all whilst maintaining an unapologetic pop aesthetic. Her single, “Wait”, embodies this statement with an honest, yet endearing exploration of a no-strings-attached relationship, and her unquestionably gorgeous vocals and impeccable production make it work.
