Having just received a whiff of Nick Leng’s Tunnels and Planes EP with “Inside Your Mind” four days ago, we knew to expect a greatly sublime debut work from the man, and now with another new piece from it, "Leaves", unveiled today, we can bask in the satisfaction of our expectations having been at least two-thirds fulfilled (we've yet to hear the final track on the EP). Going entirely solo on the second effort ("IYM" weaved in the talents of Carmody on it), Leng effortlessly exploits both his production and vocal wings—continuing to foster a chillwave-fortified environment we can’t get enough of. In terms of the piece's production, the percussion is unquestionably the most transpiring aspect of them all, as Nick's employment of chalky sounds and kick-snare combinations issue the basis of the piece. With his vocals, too, he thoroughly delivers, drifting ever so painlessly through the unhurried, escalating instrumental. Purchase "Leaves" and the other parts of Tunnels and Planes on iTunes now.
