If you're looking for something brand-new and completely underground, we've just the song for you, and it comes from Nick Klein, a 21-year-old singer-songwriter from the Netherlands. And while the title "singer-songwriter" often conveys thoughts of an acoustic guitarist belting out some emotional vocals, we've a different type of singer-songwriter here, because as Nick's new single, "Break Away", suggests, he ventures into a fresh, synth-glazed realm that we dig. Nick Klein takes a stripped-down approach to the track, beginning it with nothing more than a jungle-style drum beat beneath his smooth vocals, and yet the vibe conveyed is totally unique and utterly captivating. A few nuances occur within the first minute of the song—one of which is the addition of some deep bass hits—but once the synths set in, we're hopelessly hooked on Nick's sound. The track is simple, original, and, most importantly, ever-pleasant to listen to, and even though there isn't a myriad of layers on it, we're still uninhibitedly loving the vibes.
