Thanks to an i-D interview with the man, we've learned that London's Nicholas Larsen comes from a family rich in musical blood. His parents both work in the music industry, and his brother's a Grammy-winning producer, so, it only makes sense that Nicholas, himself, has been putting out incredible solo and collaborative works for some time. Previously, we've been enamored with his work in acts Quiet Man and Watuzi, and, now today, we're learning that he's those aforementioned solo pieces that are just as captivating. "Vibes" is the first and most recent work of Nicholas' that we're taking a great liking to, and what downtempo indie-funk vibes it has are truly remarkable. There's an unmistakable groove and coolness to the track, and Nicholas' own tame vocals on top just solidify the effort as a special one. "Starlight" is the other track of his that we're highlighting here, and it, too, is gripping as can be. It's calm but so, so likable because of its flavored instruments and pace. It's an ear-perking effort, for sure, and, together with "Vibes", ought to give anyone enough reason to look out for this man long into the future. Who knows what other incredible works he has in store.
