You’d be forgiven if you hadn't heard of The Walton Hoax before today, but that is a fact that deserves to change. The production duo of Jeroen Vande Voorde and Peter van Ewijk, of Belgium and the Netherlands, respectively, have previously released original material in the form of two short EPs in 2011 and 2012. Since that time, they have lent their talents to reworking other artists such as Pixel Fix, Stumbleine, and now London band Mt. Wolf. Keeping with the original electronic-folk aesthetic of Mt. Wolf’s latest single, “Red”, the approach taken by Walton is one of subtle mastery, with just enough crystalline production to infuse a hypnotic chill. New original music from The Walton Hoax is said to be on the horizon, but if they continue to release affecting remixes like this one, then we don’t have any real basis for complaint.
