Mr. Carmack and Kaytranada have both been hitting sounds out of the perceptible sonic stratosphere lately, and neither have been showing signs of slowing down. The former was just recently revealed to have a spot on Isaiah Rashad's highly anticipated project coming out later this month, while the latter has been touring on frequent occasion, pumping out mixes, and making his musical presence felt in general. It's been a busy past few months for the pair, to be sure, but we wouldn't want it any other way as connoisseurs of their creations. Just a couple of hours ago, the producers put out an enhanced version of a Carmack track I know I've heard before, but can't seem to find now that he's wiped his SoundCloud slate clean for the new year. The prior knowledge of the track has had no adverse effect on my enjoyment of the fresh effort, though; the updated influences are easily identifiable, and equally entertaining; the original synth work remains intact, and the tightly controlled percussion claps as conspicuously as it did before. In its entirety, "Ones" represents a reminder of the pair's prowess, then, and it provides an incredible listen for those yearning to vibe out to something massive, but mellow as well.
