In the land of music engineering/mixing/production a "reference" usually refers to song that is used as a mixing reference to compare other songs to during the mixing process. So for MR•CAR/\\ACK to name this track "reference" and allude to this on his SC saying "trying out some different compression options" we are assuming this is a sort-of fooling around of sorts? Whatever the thought process is behind this track we are absolutely blown away. Stream below.
