There's no producer out in the limelight right now with as iconic a sound as that possessed by Mr. Carmack. The tropical chords and extraterrestrial synths he employs in his productions are unmistakble after only a couple of listens to his craft, and it's easy to see why he's found such favor within the expanding pool of instrumental aficionados he's helped, and continues to help, construct. We're chatting about this all, of course, because of the sonic gem the Honolulu-native just dropped yesterday, "Free Baby", within which there's much to admire, unsurprisingly. The vibes are again otherworldly, the percussion slaps as hard as Chris Brown, and the entire instrumental lasts for a satisfactory length of time. "Free Baby" blends bass with graceful electronic, a hallmark concoction of Carmack's, and demands your immediate attention.
