In life, there is the yin and the the yang, the duality of light and dark. With music, there's the major key "happy face" pop music, but on the other end of that spectrum, there are bands like Australia's MOVEMENT that stick to the minor key style of life and juxtapose that cheery pop sound with their intriguingly moody brand of downtempo soul. We need bands like MOVEMENT in our lives, this is just a fact, and as we've discovered from their constant rolling out of superb material, it's been a welcomed addition to our daily music consumption. Adding to their already impressive musical palette today is the full streaming-release of their self-titled debut EP that features the previously released, "Like Lust", "Ivory", and the two previously unheard cuts, "5.57" and "Control You". So while you may think (from our words) that MOVEMENT's music is only for dark and gloomy days, it's not; if you have an appreciation for articulate, thorough, and fascinating sounds, an EP like this one can be digested anywhere, anytime. Look for it to be released on iTunes on April 30th, but until then, enjoy the tracks from it.
