If you happen to be a fan of the show Gossip Girl, you may already be aware of the new band, Mother, because of its member (and GG actor), Penn Badgley. Regardless whether you know this (or care at all), you should be aware that music is never posted on Hillydilly simply because of who made it, but only if it's, well, good. And believe us when we say that this song is good. The effort begins in a downtempo fashion with smooth synths, occasional percussion, and soft vocals radiating some serious style. However, the song's wow-factor is delivered from the brilliant use of one instrument specifically, and that is the captivating saxophone. You get a small taste of the instrument's class after the first chorus, but then it suddenly vanishes; don't be alarmed, though, because it quickly returns to the piece to take center stage for much of the song. The saxophone appears to be coming back into style, as it's been used recently by Panama, Alex Brandt, and Henry Andrés, and whether or not it's a trend, we're ecstatic about the creativity it's facilitating in music, and specifically, in this track here.
