MORE is a Danish alternative-pop act that's just released an outstanding new effort entitled "I Need You". Blocked piano chords, a head-nodding beat, and phased-out synths give the track a reflective, downtempo feel that perfectly matches the simplicity of the lyrics, and the vocals, too, are sparse and elegant, expressed in little melodic hooks that fill out the texture and give the lyrics extra meaning. To encapsulate that feeling of loneliness expressed in the lines is a difficult feat to pull off well, but MORE wisely chose to repeat simple, expressive melodic figures in the production to keep us situated in a single moment in time. They certainly did well with this one as a whole.
