"Carry Oceans" is the debut track from the newly minted indie-pop duo, Montoya, and they're providing a whole lot of promise with their feel-good first offering. The track's the kind of that puts you under a spell—it's nothing of the pump-up variety. Members Cécilia and Hugo elect for the nostalgic route by surrounding the lovely lead vocals of the former with subdued pads, lightly textured drums, and fixating melodies from the later, and what results is a soft and gently uplifting sound that foretells future efforts of a similar nature. If you're all about keeping your music diverse these days, get this Parisian twosome on your radar immediately, because if they continue to release music like this, you're going to want to be listening.
