Sure, this "Coloured Sands" instrumental by Munich DJ/producer Mono.Mental is six months old, and the EP with which it built buzz for has already been released, but that doesn't mean much to us. The track is the type to retain its sonic flavoring long after its debut is up, and it's the kind of sound embedded in it that ages well. "Couloured Sands" doesn't do too much, honestly; it dances around some distant soundscapes, includes some well-restrained percussion, and, of course, utilizes a synth to get its main electronic message across. It's not going to blow anyone away with its intricacies; rather, it's going to appeal to anyone with an ear for the genre in the slightest, and that itself is fairly impressive.
