London's 21-year-old soul singer, Moko, has in her possession some serious windpipes, and also a highly anticipated debut EP set to drop soon. In preparation for the release, she’s put out this Mura Masa remix of her lead single, “Freeze”, and it's a stripped-down track that perfectly compliments her huge voice. The beat plods along at a relatively predictable pace, adding some downtempo flavor to the mix, but it’s definitely nothing to complain about, because it keeps the track moving forward at a nice rate while Moko’s voice is freed to wander a bit, exploring certain notes that just aren’t attainable for vocalists of a lesser caliber. With such a good balance between hard-hitting percussion and the smooth textures that Moko provides, this track is definitely gonna win you over. Both of these artists are rising stars, so you’ll probably want to keep an eye out for more of their work as it’s released. For now though, enjoy this latest collaboration in all its soul-infused, electronic glory.
