For the uninitiated, Moderat is the is much-celebrated collaboration between German electronic music stalwarts Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary (Modeselektor) and Sascha Ring (Apparat). With two albums already under their belt, the three-piece is returning to our speakers once more with their upcoming third LP, III, and also an EP by the same name of their new track here. With their previous works, Moderat has shown that they have a deft ability to bring order to the discordant—a skill they yield once more on their new track. The percussion samples—turbulent from the onset—are expertly drawn into line by the rousing electronic score that builds throughout, and the instrumental track is incredible in and of itself. When structured around yet another emphatic vocal take from Sascha, however, we are delivered a sound that is bold, progressive, and unmistakably Moderat. III is now available for pre-order on iTunes (the album releases April 1), and you can also purchase this track on their upcoming Reminder EP which will drop before their new album on February 19.
