Nowadays, it's seldom we come across covers which could truthfully surpass the original in quality. It isn't impossible, but it's as difficult a task as any, musically speaking, and definitely doesn't occur as often as the quantity of covers overall would lead you to believe. With that said, though, we find withMNEK's gorgeously executed rendition of Coldplay's "Magic" that it does indeed happen (if extremely infrequently so). At only 19 years of age, MNEK has single-handedly taken the world by storm with his empowering vocals and finesse production skills, and, here sitting atop elements of the original, MNEK is able to seamlessly add in a bit of his signature cake that he's so well known for. "Jazzy", "strong", and "evocative" would be the words to describe this beautiful interpretation of his, and, on a hot summer afternoon, it's what you want to be listening to.
