Let's face it: Vanessa Carlton's "A Thousand Miles" was an early '00s hit, but musically, it's the equivalent of white bread—something you dread hearing every time you hear it come on in a grocery store or anywhere, really. Of course, tracks like them—and almost all in general—are able to take on a new life when a new musical suitor comes along, and with MNEK here doing just that, we're afforded a modern-day flair to accompany the original sound. With his rendition here, the Englishman has reworked the production, added a "Love Shack" sample from The B-52's during the chorus, and covered the vocals as a special Valentine's Day treat for his fans.
