MK Grands — Visionary IX

MK Grands

Visionary IX

Surfacing just over two months ago, MK Grands’ debut, “Throne”, did a flawless job illustrating his unique approach to vocal-led electronic, and ever since, we’ve been quite anxious to hear what sort of structure his upcoming work would take on. Here with his latest piece, “Visionary IX”, our impatient minds have been put to rest. Not completely contrasting to his preceding piece, Daniel Cartisano lets his voice gradually nucleate the work, and along with his forward-thinking beat-making prowess shining beside, he manipulates the setting to his desired sonic makeup. The latter end of the piece again portrays Cartisano’s production volatility with silk-coated saw synths providing an emphatic fringe like “Throne”—furnishing the entire piece with a cutting-edge character. There's definitely a more sonically subservient approach on the structural wing of the piece, but that should far from take away fromCartisano’s highly impressive falsetto and perforating backdrop, as “Visionary IX” will certainly prompt tons of replays going forward.
