Missio’s early success has set the bar high for this sophomore project, but this act from Austin, Texas, rises to the occasion with style, and their new EP, I Don't Even Care About You, is a specimen of sonic evolution to behold. We’ve already heard two singles off the tracklist here in “I Don't Even Care About You” and “Can I Exist”, but now that they have some context, the songs take on a whole new—and much more complex—flavor. The project pushes off the blocks right away with that first cut, and the frantic sampling in the intro lets you know you’re in for a much more diverse listening experience than previous tracks. The EP crests high with the pulsating energy in “Hey You, Remember My Name”, and it dips into a much more relaxed pace on that aforementioned second cut. Both songs are much softer than the EP’s title track, but they arrive at the same destination via very different paths. “The City” and “Anthem For the Broken”, the next tracks, provided aggressiveness and slower sounds, respectively, and they altogether tie up the project in a whole, yet inventive-sounding way.
