Of late, unknown New Zealand-based talents have been making more frequent appearances than before, and while we don't really know why that's the case, today, we've dug up yet another unearthed act hailing from the area that goes by the name Mimi & Licks. With not a single Facebook like prior to our discovery, we've also no information about the group, but we're guessing they're a duo as their sole piece to date, "Someone Else", gives us enough reason to believe that there's more than one hand at play. Possessing quite an obvious synth-leaning pop sound, the dense production involved somehow doesn't overpower the female vocals beside them, instead sending forth percolating, sunlit sonic tones. The soothing voice of the lead-vocalist is one to latch on to, for sure, and we feel that it's only a matter of time until "Someone Else" will see a substantial number of plays.
