Mike Irish is a new name to us, and, though there isn't much information available on the Brooklyn artist at this time, it appears he's been involved in the music world in some way for a bit. He's just now starting fresh with a seriously exciting sound, though, and it's one that can be heard in both "A Grain of Salt" and "With Colors"—the lone two songs on his SC page. The first-mentioned tune is a seriously groovy one, carried largely by gritty drums, sultry bass, and Irish's stylish vocals (the piece also changes and evolves, eventually reaching an interesting break down). "With Colors", meanwhile, is a slightly more experimental piece, presenting several lo-fi sounds that combine to produce a euphoric sonic haze. Both are quality, however. Listen now.
