When we came across debut track "Manufactured Love" by New York artist Michael Blume two months ago, we were treated to a gifted singer and songwriter making quite a nice blend of soul and gospel-inspired pop. The track itself was one satisfying without a hint of being saccharine, and the sonic wholesomeness that it provided was able to open for the artist some doors. It's unsurprising, then, to see him back at work with another single release, and we're excited to say that it's as good as his last. "Colors" is his new, Brady Watt-produced second track, and it's pretty much the epitome of low-key alternative-pop. It's got a simple enough opening that will warm you up for more, and, soon enough, Michael emerges with his tightly written verses that are fairly bulletproof. His inflections are all great, his chorus is innocent yet impactful, and he remains confident and unhurried until the piece finally does come to an end. This is a quality piece through and through, and while it won't win over those looking for an "exciting" sound, it'll certainly creep into the hearts and minds of those patient enough to enjoy a sturdily crafted tune.
