If you asked us to name an up-and-coming band that's had a more fortunate year than Mexico City Blondes, we'd have a really hard time coming up with a name. When we found them, they were sitting under the radar as one of those hidden gems every music lover dreams of stumbling across, but rarely ever does. Since, they've enjoyed one success after another, and their Facebook timeline indeed reads like a proverbial fairy tale. Each update from the band brings with it good news of an ever-increasing magnitude, and in the short span since people started taking notice, they've gotten love from Vogue, appeared in live shows with Panama, and smashed the Hype Machine charts to pieces. Pretty impressive, no? With all of that progression under their belts, MCB has gone and done the right thing by blowing everybody away for a second time with their debut music video for "Fade". The visuals have got a vaguely Wes Anderson feel to them, and the production value is second-to-none, so if you were at all a fan of the song (and let's face it, you probably were [and still are]), then this video is going to bring to life the music that this duo so expertly crafted. It's apparent that not one artistic stone was left unturned as the band explored their creative options for this visual, and the finished product really shows off their that ever-elusive and understated cool that we talked about in out review of the song way back when.
