Stop what you're doing and just soak this one up. We've featured Mazde on here before, and by all accounts, his music is top-notch, but nothing he's done so far will prepare you for the awesomeness that is "Shifted Thoughts". It's an effort that's poppy but not too white bread, and the production work has a lighthearted bounce to it that will not only hook you in, but keep your ears locked on the undulating synths from the very beginning to the very last note. La Mar's singer provides the perfect vocal compliment to the sonic backdrop, too, and in tandem, the artists make "Thoughts" into gold. The intro to the track is pretty quiet, but the beat is perfectly balanced, and it's almost got an R&B feel to it once things really get rolling. There's plenty of quirky sounds folded in to keep you interested, but don't for a second think that Mazde and La Mar have gotten lost down some experimental rabbit hole where it's impossible for the average listener to follow along and enjoy the ride. No, they've kept this track accessible for all without sacrificing any of the quality, and if you haven't landed on your track of the month yet, this is one of the strongest candidates we've come across so far. Give it your undivided attention.
