This is one of those songs that obviously builds upon the original work of other musicians (the sampling here is overt, to say the least), but no matter where your opinion falls on the intellectual property rights spectrum, you'd be hard-pressed to say that this rework featuring some Bunny Sigler clips doesn't sound freaking awesome. It's an electronic track, but the pacing is much more relaxed, and the drop has a soulful bounce that meshes perfectly with this titan of an R&B's vocal work. Even the hip-hop elements that Mazde subtly incorporated into certain sections of the composition don't feel out of place in the slightest (you could argue they are the spiritual descendants of Bunny's work, anyway). It's nice to come across a track like this and realize that, despite the fact that the individual elements of this track are separated by decades, they still sound amazing together, as if they were all recorded in one immaculate session.
