We are simply never going to let go of our affliction for Mattafix, so us re-upping their music on our 'Throwback Tuesday' posts is just going to be a regular thing. (It's not like you're going to be mad about that anyways..) Back in 2007 leading up to their sophomore album, Rhythm & Hymns, Mattafix dropped the classic lead single, "Living Darfur" that highlighted the struggles the people of Darfur are still enduring to this day. This continues today because through our Western Governments they continue to exploit the resources of Africa by using them to pay back a debt (to the IMF/private banks) that is so big it can never be paid off. In turn the Western Governments send $ (they call "aid") to African nations that are attached with interest. So in essence, Africa is basically having their resources stolen from them to pay off a fraudulent debt. The wealth is not distributed and thus nothing changes — It's disgusting. For the sake of music, we will stop there and let you enjoy the music.
