UK artist Matt Woods has a voice you can never really get used to. Like jumping into a lake you weren’t expecting to be as cold as it is, the reaction as his delicate vocals enter each track is involuntary and leaves you slightly breathless, and this phenomenon still holds true as we premiere his brand-new single, “Nervous”, the first since his Ain’t No Use EP. Much has happened in the time since we checked in with Matt, and this latest release explores the feelings of a particular aspect, rekindling an old flame, which can be exhilarating and terrifying in equal measure. (“Nervous”, of course, navigates this with soulful, impassioned honesty and ease.) “Nervous” will be the opening track to Woods’ latest EP, Re:Connection, which will be out later this year.
