Matt Woods has done it again, and while he's not making headlines with "Leaning Towers" for doing something completely new with his style of music, he's definitely put together a track that builds very nicely on his past releases. This is very much an evolution from "In The Dark" and "Impression", and while were not sure which songs were, in fact, made first, the release schedule seems to be perfectly planned to reflect the different subtleties and facets of Matt's sound. "Leaning Towers" is a bit slower and softer than its counterparts, so don't be thinking you're in for some hard-edged neo-soul banger, but know that it's not a straight-up ballad, either. What you get is a thoughtful piece of music that doesn't trip over itself trying to impress you with big sounds or flash production work. Matt seems content sitting back in the saddle a bit and putting together a performance solely based on his skill as a singer and songwriter, and surely, with "Towers" here, we've a track that will not only stand by itself just fine, but also really enrich his three-track Into The Dark EP (this is the third and final track from it) as a whole when it comes out on April 20.
