If you're a fan of John Newman's stunning pipes but can't stand the fact that his track with Calvin Harris has been replayed into oblivion on the airwaves, then this track by Matt Woods is your remedy. "In The Dark" will drop your jaw to the floor almost immediately, and Woods' voice has that same mystical quality to it that only the best of the best have at their disposal. We're talking superstar levels of sonic talent here, and if your interest is even remotely piqued by the idea of a soul-infused pop track, then this is going to wow you from note number one. Matt Woods already has a couple EPs out for sale online, but we have yet to see him really break through into the mainstream. This may be the beginning of that journey, though, because even though his voice is plenty good enough to carry even a mediocre instrumental, he's chosen to pair up his lyrics with a juggernaut of a slow-jam track, and the result is astounding. We're excited to see what he does from here, surely, because if he manages to top this, we're signing up for the fan club in no time at all.
