In the current climate of music, there are many acts striving for little more than short-term internet popularity and Hype Machine hearts, but there are also those like mAsis that innovate, experiment, and craft their own extraordinary lane. The trio from Glendale, California, debuted just a few months ago with their lighter-than-air, soft-as-a-cloud single, "Make Me Higher", and now, they've returned to establish themselves as one of the very best acts around with first EP Kennesaw. Throughout the three-track affair, mAsis presents us with some of the freshest and most addictive styles of electronic-laced indie-pop we've heard. "Pop Rocks" is four minutes of gently layered, gorgeously composed indie-pop ecstasy, and "Salt", the other new piece from the three, is a synth-heavy number that's slightly more upbeat but just as divine as the EP's other two efforts. Together, the trio of tracks make up one phenomenal piece, so be sure not to miss out on them.
