We've already written about Mark Johns' pre-releases to her debut EP, Molino, and, although we were a bit slow to cover its release a few days ago, we're glad we get to cover it now. The six-track project from the OWLSA-signed artist is a worthy one, and its various quirky production parts and sonic structure create some solid, sensual electronic-pop. Previous cuts "Molino" and "Before You" work great within this body, and the new highlights in the EP are "Bacardi" and "Chapstick", for sure. The songwriting elements of breakup are prevalent in both cuts, and, although the topic is one visited especially in pop, Johns breathes enough originality into the efforts to make them really take off. Additionally, her soothing production and great-as-always-vocals layer together well, so, really this one is perfectly strong as whole. Below, find our highlighted cuts, but make sure to check out the rest of the project on either SoundCloud or Spotify now.
