Here goes another teaser from Marika Hackman’s upcoming EP in the form of her cover of Lykke Li's, “I Follow Rivers”. If there ever was someone to righteously cover Lykke Li, though, it would definitely be Marika, because as displayed here, this effort is the definitive truth. Simply covering Lykke Li's original by mimicking it was not in the cards for Marika, either; naturally, the singer-songwriter's vocals set an ominous tone, but with the addition of sweeping synths that sound like they're hiding in the shadows, this cover leaves the timbre of the original and heads towards a cabin-in-the-woods vibe. Marika Hackman's Deaf Heat EP will be released on April 14th.
