The effort itself has a simple, mystical quality that instantly draws the listener into the track's fog-shrouded quality, and, as per usual with her work, her production is unconventional yet beautifully arranged—expertly utilizing a wide variety of instruments to make them sound indispensable. The jaw-dropping strings towards the end of the track are a really great example of Marika's unique gift for orchestration and songwriting, and really, "Before I Sleep" as a whole is just another exceptional track from the very exceptional artist.
