Marian Hill is doing everything right. The Philadelphia duo released their debut EP, Play, about nine months ago, and it stands as one of the freshest, most original works of electro-pop we've heard all year. More recently, Jeremy Lloyd (production and songwriting) and Samantha Gongol (vocals and songwriting) let loose the single, "Got It", which continued their streak of excellence, and today, they keep the ball rolling with another great track, "Lips". The pair takes a fairly minimalistic approach to this one, and we hear them make good use of sparse synth bursts, fresh electronic percussion, and a smooth guitar riff. Samantha's vocals are lovely, as per usual, and Jeremy slices and pitch-shifts them brilliantly. Consequently, "Lips" amounts to another shining piece of pop from Marian Hill, and you can pre-order the track on iTunes today.
