Whether a revamp or original, the rate at which Kill Them With Colour has been dropping fresh electronic gems is almost unmatched at this point, and today, they probe into yet another wing of the sonic sphere with a serene reworking of Marian Hill’s two-month old “Got It”. The Samantha Gongol vocal-led original is still stark in our minds, no doubt, but having KTWC's take on it certainly doesn’t hurt, especially with the approach they’ve taken in this case: less of their characteristic dance-heavy elements, and more of a sedative atmosphere throughout. We’re already quite aware of the Canadian duo’s intent delve into distinct alcoves in the electronic realm, and they continue to exemplify the claim on this rework, employing downright tranquil synths and steady drumwork with sudden, soft, brass inclusions. Gongol's vocals are left to glide effortlessly in the setting provided, and with crafty rising soundscapes and pirouetting cadences courtesy of saw-like synths, the two manage to weave their identifiable sound into the piece while still keeping enough of the original about to please fans of that one, too.
