Too often, we hear music comparable to others, and equally frequently (and unfortunately), we're fronted with an annoying acquaintance comparing something to some awful song or artist. The realities are increasingly ubiquitous, but not all acts and artists are subject, of course, and you can rest assured with Marian Hill, for example, that none of the above is going to happen. Their adored uniqueness is well-documented, and their latest track, "Got It", is a music lover's dream in 2014. It's got hip-hop-sounding drums, funky, quirky samples, thumping, side-chained bass, and saxophone parts that are ridiculously tasty. Jeremy Lloyd (production, songwriting) and Samantha Gongol's (vocals, songwriting) arrangements are truly one-of-a-kind, and it's tracks like "Got It" that personifies their awesome sound to a tee. If you don't feel some type of way after hearing, "Got It", therefore, there's a solid chance you're listening to music the wrong way. Look for "Got It" to be released alongside "Lips" (an unreleased track) on December 2nd via B3SCI Records. Also, if you happen to be in or around CMJ next next week, make sure to check them out.
