Marian Hill expertly makes sexy, sample-filled tracks, and, although they've been experimenting with different sounds on newer releases like "Subtle Thing," their freshest track, "Differently", shows their roots while exploring new territory as well. The choppy, wavy samples and sultry vocals used remain constant, but the Philly duo exchanges their usual saxophone-driven bass for a heavier, more synth-filled motif. "Differently" is bound to earn the band a couple new fans while pleasing those familiar with them already, and we're glad they are continuing to be confident as they explore with sounds.
