Marian Hill has been one of the most consistently great electro-pop acts over the past few years. Their bold, percussion-focused sound has only grown more appealing over time, and they've helped bring the new wave of electro-pop to mainstream culture, for sure. Although they already have a relatively large discography, we're only now receiving their debut full-length, ACT ONE, and it's just as excellent as we expected it to be. The Philadelphia pair showcases their playfully minimal and zesty style throughout ACT ONE, and though there aren't many surprises here, we don't think that's a bad thing at all. Looking forward, the two will probably have to evolve and grow upon their sound, but, for now, it's all we need, and we've chosen "Bout You" and "Take Your Time" as instant favorites from the project that we'd like you all to hear.
